Sparrows Bed & Breakfast - St Just, Cornwall
A small, friendly and comfortable bed and breakfast, offering a generous sized ensuite room that can be made up as either a double or a twin, in the home of artist Frankie Webb and her archaeologist partner Reg Jackson and a delightful colony of sparrows that gives the house its name.
Sparrows is a charming granite cottage built around 1825, in a quiet conservation area in the historic mining town of St Just in Penwith. It is a short step from local shops, art galleries and some excellent cafés and pubs, and in all directions there are gorgeous rural and coastal walks, rich in wildlife and prehistory and industrial archaeology. St Just is a great place for coast-path walkers to stop off and stay.
Near to St Just is the beautiful Cape Cornwall, and just down the coast, Sennen’s famous cove and sandy beach. There are stone circles and quoits and ruined mines perched on cliffs. To the south there is the lovely Minack Theatre with its ocean backdrop, and Land’s End is about five miles away.
The coast and countryside around St Just have been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and have also recently been awarded World Heritage Site status.
